Week 9- Oct. 31- Nov. 4

Happy Halloween Everyone!

I hope to see you dressed up in your costumes on Monday at school! Please remember what I said last week about masks, and appropriate costumes. That being said, you can still have a lot of fun!

This week at school the Gr.9's have their 'Take Our Kids to Work' day on Wednesday November 2nd, which is a National program through the Career Center. Gr.9's are expected to be out of school that day to learn about the work world and perhaps get a better idea of life after school, not to mention what their parents do all day! If students cannot attend their parents' workplace, they may go to that of a family friend, neighbor, relative, or even go along with one of their classmates, as long as they have the proper permissions required! Consent forms are due on Monday October 31st by 3pm at the office. Otherwise students can't go and must go to their regular classes as usual.

A number of my classes have a lot of due dates fast approaching so be sure to check your course website for more information!

Have a great week!

Week 8- Oct.24-28th

Hi Everybody!
This week there aren't any major school events going on to speak of, except it is important to note that there will NOT be an early dismissal on Oct.26th.

Since it is the last week of October, you are probably thinking about your Halloween costumes! You will be allowed to wear your Halloween costume at school next Monday the 31st, however, please keep in mind the Halloween costumes must still be school appropriate. This means no offensive language on apparell, nothing that could interpreted as racist, nothing that shows too much skin, etc. This also includes masks. If your costume includes a mask you will have to wear it on your head (kind of defeats the purpose I know), but this is due to school safety. We must be able to identify our students for security reasons, so please keep these rules in mind. With all of that being said, there are tons of costume ideas that you can have fun with! And yes, of course I will be dressing up as well! :)
Have a good week everybody!

Note to Parents/Guardians: if you have any concerns about your son or daughter's progress at school, please don't hesitate to call or email your child's classroom teacher. Despite the current job action, we are happy to answer any questions you may have or discuss your child's progress. In my case, email is preferred, as it is much easier for me to respond this way during the school day.
Thank you for your understanding.
